June's product update is focused on making purchase order workflows more flexible, improving backorder reliability, and giving teams more ways to work with inventory data through Fabrikatör MCP.

🚀 What’s New?

Purchase order custom fields

What it is: Purchase orders now support custom fields, so teams can capture extra information that matters to their workflow directly on the PO.

Why it’s useful: Not every purchasing process fits into the same default fields. Custom fields let you track details like payment terms, internal notes, documents, URLs, categories, or other PO-specific information without moving that context into spreadsheets.

How to use it: Go to Settings, Custom Fields, and define the fields your team wants to use for purchase orders. The fields appear in the Additional Info section on each PO.

Barcode printing from purchase orders

What it is: Purchase orders now include a Print Barcodes action that opens Fabrikatör's barcode printing flow with PO line item data.

Why it’s useful: Teams receiving stock can move faster from an incoming PO to printed product labels, especially when replacing workflows they previously handled in Stocky or spreadsheets.

How to use it: Open a purchase order and use the Print Barcodes action from the PO detail page.

Comments in the purchase order activity timeline

What it is: Team members can now add comments to the purchase order activity timeline, alongside system-generated activity events.

Why it’s useful: Purchasing decisions often need context: supplier updates, payment notes, delivery changes, or internal handoff details. Comments keep that context attached to the PO instead of scattered across Slack, email, or spreadsheets.

How to use it: Open a purchase order and add comments from the Activities section.

Fabrikatör MCP workflows expanded

What it is: Fabrikatör MCP gained more inventory and purchase order capabilities, including supplier updates, PO approval and receiving, purchase order archive/delete actions, stockout reporting improvements, and inventory summary data.

Why it’s useful: MCP lets operators work with Fabrikatör inventory data in plain language through compatible AI assistants. These updates make it more useful for weekly inventory reviews, supplier cleanup, purchase order workflows, and stockout prioritization.

How to use it: Open the Fabrikatör MCP guide inside the app and connect Fabrikatör to a compatible AI assistant.

🧩 Improvements

• Custom field attachments now support a smoother drag-and-drop flow.

• Custom field settings can be reordered with drag and drop, so teams can control the order fields appear in.

• Custom field validation now gives clearer feedback for invalid URLs and unsupported attachment types.

• Custom field settings received spacing and input improvements for a cleaner setup experience.

• Custom reports can stay open longer before token expiry, helping teams review heavier reports without losing access mid-session.

• Reports now better handle sold quantity across multiple time periods, including 7, 30, 60, and 90 days.

• The Plan sidebar item no longer shows the NEW badge now that the feature has launched.

🐞 Bug Fixes & Misc

• Fixed a Horizon theme issue where the pre-order button label could fail to update, making backorders appear broken on Shopify's newer theme family.

• Improved backorder reliability when refunded line items should become available again.

• Improved Shopify backorder update handling when Shopify throttles or temporarily delays product variant updates.

• Fixed cases where UNLISTED Shopify products could be skipped during bulk product import.

• Fixed a dead stock reporting issue where returns could be treated as sales, creating misleading latest sold dates.

• Fixed product import and webhook edge cases that could create duplicate product option records or setup import errors.

• Improved client update visibility by warning users when they are running an outdated app version.
